Good to Know
What You Should Know
After the claim has been filed, we will meet with your insurance adjuster to inspect your property for damage and help explain the sometimes confusing paperwork. Our team is here to assist you every step of the way.
Before you file, it helps to know your deductible. Many Texas policies have a separate wind and hail deductible that is a percentage of your dwelling coverage. If the cost of the repair is less than your deductible, a claim may not pay anything.
Texas law does not allow a contractor to pay, waive or rebate your insurance deductible. The deductible is your responsibility under the policy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I file a claim or just pay for the repair myself?
Compare the estimated cost of the repair to your deductible. Wind and hail deductibles in Texas are often a percentage of your dwelling coverage, so they can be several thousand dollars on a larger home. If the repair costs less than your deductible, filing a claim may not make sense.
What does the adjuster look at?
The adjuster inspects the roof for hail and wind damage, usually one slope at a time, and checks gutters, vents and other metal for dents. They also consider the age of the roof and the date of the storm. We will meet with your adjuster at your property after the claim has been filed.
My claim was denied. Is that final?
Not always. You can ask your insurance company about a reinspection. Call us and we can talk through your options.
Who pays the roofer, me or the insurance company?
Your insurance company pays you, often in more than one payment, and you pay the contractor. Your deductible is the part of the cost you are responsible for.
How long does a roof claim take?
It depends on your insurance company and how busy adjusters are after a storm. Once the claim is approved, typical construction time for a roof replacement is 48 hours or less.
Can a roofer pay my deductible for me?
No. Texas law does not allow a contractor to pay, waive or rebate an insurance deductible.
